Creating a Conversation Company with Video
About ABN AMARO:
ABN AMRO Bank is the third largest bank in the Netherlands, with international offices in Dallas, Chicago, and New York. Business lines include retail banking, corporate banking, commercial banking and more.
The problem:
In order to empower employees to take part in several community initiatives, and engage them as one community across all ABN AMARO’s departments, the bank decided to leverage vide technologies, and was looking for a platform that will allow collaboration and communication, using video. “You need an open, transparent, and energizing culture, but on the other hand, you need alignment, and you need to bundle your ambassadors together,” says Aron De Boks, Digital Channel Strategist at ABN AMRO, “We wanted to have one video platform that included multiple use cases. So every single department has to use the same platform”.
The Solution:
Using Kaltura’s video platform solutions, ABN AMARO built both their external and internal video platforms, such that all of the organization’s videos could be stored in one place, but integrated everywhere, on any of their platforms. The organization also launched their own webcast, using Kaltura’s webcasting application. “Within two months,” says De Boks, “Some employees are telling others how to organize a webcast…sharing information."
The result:
ABN AMRO achieved close to 100 percent adoption rate of employees watching and engaging with video, in 18 months. Today, the bank’s video platform includes more than 3,500 videos, created by all departments, for various purposes. “This summer we had eight workshops for people who created their very first own video. After this workshop, you see the stars in their eyes, that they also could create their own videos”, De Boks explains, “It's all about video doing, not just talking about video”.
